Princeton CarbonWorks Peak 4550 Tubular Wheelset, Tactic TR01 Hubs (Campy)

Description: I purchased this wheelset brand new from Princeton CarbonWorks almost 2 years ago (about $4k) and have barely used them; two rides at only 15-20 miles each (neither ride was in bad weather). If you’re familiar with the German-made Tactic Racing TR01 hubs, you’ll know they come lubricated with tungsten disulfide oil from the factory, which allows the grade 7 ceramic bearings to provide incredibly low friction. I had the rear bearings serviced by my local mechanic right after purchasing the set and had him degrease the bearings and re-lubricate them with a ceramic-specific grease that’s less maintenance-heavy than continuing to use oil. This can be converted back to the factory condition by degreasing them again and re-lubricating them with a high-end synthetic oil, such as Silca Synergetic Wet Lube with tungsten disulfide. Front hub bearings were left alone with factory lube. This disc brake wheelset is one of the lightest available. If climbing is your thing or you’re just going for the lightest build possible, this is the wheelset to use. I weighed these on my scale at only 1,145 grams for the set. No surprise, as the rims are tubular and this disc hubset is the lightest on the market. Spokes are Sapim CX-Ray. Cassette body is Campagnolo. Shimano/Sram version can be purchased from PCW, if needed. *I’m also including the barely used FMB Performance Racing silk tires in 25mm, which are the smoothest, bougiest racing tires known to mankind. If you want some tires with lightness to match these wheels, Veloflex offers some stupid light tubulars that would be perfect on these wheels. FMBs have never been glued. Completely clean rim surfaces (yes, I rode these unglued. I have a death wish).
