Description: For sale today is a very rare size walnut Victorian umbrella stand. This neat old stand is 34 inches tall, 23 3/4 wide and 14 3/4 front to back. The bottom section is about 2 1/2 inches high. The bottom board is original was removed, cleaned and reinstalled. One new repair and several very old repairs were made in the last 150 years? This piece came out of an estate where the home has been continually occupied since 1805! This is a very old piece! Based on 50 years experience restoring antique furniture I would date this stand as far back as the Civil War ERA - it is a 100 plus year old antique! I did not find any dates or makers mark on the stand. There are two original brass hinges that were polished and cleared. The original pan was repaired sometime in the past and a new coat of paint was applied. The two little oak feet on the front are new and replaced the originals that were beyond repair.This will be an oversized package when packed and ready to ship.
