This one is based on an actual artifact in the Smithsonian's collection. This 1/6 scale POV is part of the Full Earth Workshop Collection of Historical Astronaut Figures and Space Artifacts. It has been modeled from actual artifacts in the Smithsonian archives. This POV was used early in Project Mercury; used in the first two sub-orbital missions and for training at least through Wally Schirra’s mission late in the program. Oxygen hoses can be found online from GI Joe, Dragon, Dam Toys! And DiD Astronaut figures. Hoses can be easily created by covering nylon tubing (from eBay or a hobby shop) with adhesive athletic tape! You can find 1/6 scale astronaut / pressure suit hardware from the 1930’s to Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and SpaceX available in our other Full Earth Workshop auctions!
