Pages are yellowed due to age, pages are in good condition, no writing on pages or creased/folded pages. The only writing (pencil) in book is on the second cover page. The hard cover does contain some soiling and the upper half of spine has peeled/worn off. Very little shelf-wear. There is soiling of the hardcover. When the book is closed, you will see a marble pattern with tan, green, purple, and white colors. There are two dates found in book, one is on the title page 1892 and the other is on the backside of title page, 1889. A nice addition to one's library, theatrical/movie prop, museum addition, etc. This edition is a rare find! Book measures 10.25" x 7.0" x 2.0" and contains 676 pages.
