Description: PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ALL THE PICTURESOffered here, fresh from a rural Pennsylvania estate, is a very rare Atwater-Kent Model 217 cathedral tube radio from 1933 - I have seen this scarce model referred to as the “barn top”, surely based on the extra wide+ cabinet – the whole radio is unusually wide and very impressive. This is a beauty, probably in the same family for generations – never abused, never refinished, nothing missing, orig knobs and “217” badge – visually this set in quite impressive and is immediately recognizable as a “look” you don’t encounter. The grill cloth is likely original, no issues to the grillwork – all the little details are here – when plugged in the dial light came on and tubes lit up – I got barely a bit of noise but it surely deserves an electronic servicing - the radio probably hasn’t been used in 75 years – I tried the plug to ck the chassis for activity BUT the wire and cord are old and should be replaced. This rare radio is VERY HEAVY and will be packed and shipped by FedEx, that way they are Totally Responsible - a little extra cost [about 45.00] but I find it wise - shipping estimate total is 160.00 East of the Mississippi - ***NOTE*** shipping estimate is to be determined West of the Mississippi More than just a pretty picture.
