Description: This listing is for a rare early bronze commemorative medallion issued after the 1933 German elections. The front of the medallion has the names of Hindenburg and Hitler over profiles of both leaders. The bottom bears the dates “30.1.1933-5.3.1933.” The first date was when Hitler was appointed as Chancellor, the second date was that of the 1933 German federal election. The reverse of the medal bears the inscription “Für ein freies geeintes und stolzes Deutschland – Hitler” (For a Free, United and Proud Germany – Hitler). A few types of medals and medallions of this design were produced with the vast majority being medals with suspension loops for use as a fob or attaching to a ribbon and pin to be worn, whereas this was never mounted with a loop and is a coin-like commemorative medallion; much more scarce than the other types. It measures 36.5mm in diameter and weighs 17.6g, condition as shown in the photos. Shipping is through USPS Ground Advantage.
