Description: Rare early 1960s Yamaha Youn-Gin Dreadnought. Not alot of info out there on these guitars. What I have read over the years is they were made in 1962/63 for Yamaha by Young-Gin guitars in South Korea. These were supposed to be Yamaha's early entry in budget guitars. Young-Gin guitars has a good reputation in Korea for higher quality budget guitars. However I belive there was no trade agreements with China or Korea at that time and not alot of these guitars made it to the states. If your a Yamaha fan like me this is a nice addtion to your collection that plays and sounds great as well. The guitar it's self is in great structural and mechanical shape with a few cosmetic issuses. Guitar measures at 41" lenght, 12" widest point at top bout and 15 1/2" widest at bottom bout. 4" dept at top and 4 1/2" dept at bottom. 25 1/2" play scale. 20 frets with a zero fret. All smooth on the ends with only lite ware. Neck is thin and taperd making it very fast. Nut size 1 5/8". Just installed new set of D'Addario 12/53s strings. Action is 4.5mm at the 12th fret. No buzzing or dead spots. 3 + 3 open gear tuners are nice quality and hold tune well after new string break in. Very well built high quality binding work front and back of body. Guitar has no wood damage of any kind, No crackes, no seperations, no pull on bridge, No bulging of body. All bracing is tight, no hidden repairs. Bridge is level with no crackes. When I first bought the guitar it had a frat medal gluded to the upper left part of body. When medal was removed it took the finish with it. See last 3 pictures. Guitar also had some sort of message wrote on the front lower right side ( see last 3 pictures ) and looks as if someone tryed to preserve it with some sort of clear coat. Back of guitar has only very lite swirling and lite finish scratches that are hard to see. Over all condition of this 60 year all guitar is very good..Nice collectable and very playable guitar. Does not have case but will use extreme caution when packing for shipment. Happy to answer any questions. Standard shipping is inside 48 states only. UPS ground or FedX home depending on delivery area.
