Here is a rare "Devil Horned" fossil trilobite, from the Devonian, about 400 million years ago. Long before the first dinosaur. It is a Cyphaspis Walteri, called the Devil Horned trilobite for obvious reasons. From Ofaten, Morocco. This one measures about 1.5 inches, which would be more if the body were straightened out. The plate it is on is about 2.3 inches (varies), and it weighs 4.25 oz. This little creature appears to have been elevating its head when it passed away.
