Description: This porcelain container was produced in Germany by a Dresden decorator in the late 19th century. We don't know the exact company because the name was carefully ground off. It may have been Thieme or Wolfsohn Dresden. The length of the egg is 9 inches and the height is 6 inches. The egg sits on a rococo style base. A wonderful bouquet of vibrant flowers is hand painted on the lid of the box. The style of painting is very reminiscent of Meissen. There are sprays of flowers painted on the lower portion of the egg as well. The rims of the box have lacy, hand painted gold trim. It is an unusual and highly decorative piece in good condition.
