EXTREMELY RARE AND BEAUTIFUL ENGRAVED INVITATION TO THE INAUGURATION BALL OF PRESIDENT WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON IN WASHINGTON, DC ON MARCH 4, 1841 Entitled “1841 Inauguration Ball,” contains an engraved portrait of Harrison, printed by Underwood, Bald, Spencer, and Hufty in Philadelphia and Danforth, Underwood, and Company in New York City, one page on a bifolium coated stock, uninscribed, measures 8 b 5 inches, and in very fine condition with only toning. Harrison inaugural ball invitations are extremely rare and highly desirable with two having recently sold for $4,688 in March 2016 and $3,250 in August 2022 at University Archives. HARRISON DIED ONE MONTH INTO HIS PRESIDENCY FROM PNEUMONIA BROUGHT ON BY A COLD HE DEVELOPED FROM DELIVERING HIS LONG INAUGURAL ADDRESS Harrison is famously known for serving the shortest term presidency. As the ninth President of the United States, he died one month into his presidency from pneumonia brought on by a cold he developed from delivering his long inaugural address.
