Hand written notation on stickers on box reading "QUEEN MUM YELLOW PROTOTYPE". Several tiny black specks observed inside pot. No chips, cracks or crazing observed. Displays very well, as depicted. Fitting snugly into the palm of your hand, Face Pots were introduced in 2000 by Kevin Pearson and the art pottery team of Kevin Francis. Drawing on 18th Century Netsuke design combined with the best of art pottery and the English toby jug tradition, they became an immediate success and introduced a whole new genre of pottery commemoratives.
