Description: Philodendron melanochrysum, is a type of vining Philodedron species that was once a rare tropical plant but due to it's striking dark green crystalline foliage, Philodendron melanochrysum has become quite popular amongst plant collectors. It is a heartleaf Philodendron with a thick beefy stem and dark green, velvety foliage with creamy white veins branching out and running down the center. The new leaves have a beautiful, red-brown tint to them, giving them the name Melanochrysum--meaning black gold. This plant, with its exquisite beauty and intriguing growth habits, is a coveted specimen in the world of indoor gardening. She is a good size, very well established one that had just unfurled a new beautiful coppery bronze leaf with multiple nodes , and aerial roots. She stands at 22" tall by 9" wide that is unfurling a beautiful velvety large leaf that measures 6.25" long by 4" wide. Usually offered as a cutting with a single node, but she is so well rooted and acclimated that you don't have to stress about rooting her. You can just watch her grow larger and taller as she is also a fast grower. Place in a bright room away from direct sunlight, pot in an aroid mix and water when the top inch or 2 of soil feels dry.
