Description: Rare Stylish Zipfelvase Murano Sommerso Technique Blue-Yellow 1960s-70s Vintage. A beautiful piece! If you look at the pics, there is a small chip on the base. I've had it for years and years and never noticed it as it is small and possibly a factory error. It can't be seen at all when piece is displayed. Shipped with USPS Ground Advantage. This beautiful large pointed vase in a stylized angular shape with an asymmetrical upper edge is made in Sommerso technique, which was only invented in the second half of the 1930s by Carlo Scarpa for the Venini & C. manufactory. This is glass that is covered with another layer of colorless or differently colored glass. This technique was adopted by many other manufacturers, who achieved very different results. This vase comes from Murano, Italy around 1800. 1960 - 1970. The vase is a real work of art. The inner layer is made of yellow glass with a transition to blue glass. The floor is hand sanded. The vase is a real gem in any ambience and a real eye-catcher! The vase is approx. 21cm. high, approx. 15cm. wide at the top. It is in a well-kept used condition, with usual signs of wear and tiny chips on the bottom (see photos). Very decorative!
