I believe they are a "draw cut" style. Tested, sharp and working. Clasp at bottom of handle to hold securely shut. Accordian spring works great - still strong and sturdy. Green paint has mostly work off handles and item does have some surface rust. Likely can repaint and clean up more if pretty is what you're after. Great addition for yard work display or collection.
