Description: Comes with hand-signed C.O.A. This extremely rare and museum-grade artifact is an original WWI German torpedo boat battle report marked VERY SECRET. This extremely detailed multi-page battle report is dated August 18, 1915 and reports is from the WWI German II Torpedo Boat B98’s sinking (or as the report stated “annihilation”) of one English light cruiser and one English destroyer in the North Sea. This original report is truly one of a kind and extremely rare as details the actions of German Torpedo Boat B98 on August 17th, 1918 (written one day later). What makes this report even more incredible is the commendation of the German B98 Torpedo Boat crew for their outstanding performance during the attack. This report also recommends torpedo officer Oberleutnany Z. S. Weese for a first and second-class iron cross for his actions during the battle and his maintenance of the torpedo weapon during the action. The battle report also makes another strong request for the award of a 1st class Iron Cross to the commander of the flotilla-boat B 98 Captain-Lieutenenant Hengstenberg who as the battle report states “personally drove the attack”. This battle port comes with a fully typed German to English translation, is fully intact, and remains in remarkable condition given its age. This would be the prized WWI artifact to any WWI or German collection.
