Description: Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Realistic Mach 1 40-4029 speakers. This will let you completely recap two (2) Realistic Mach 1 40-4029 speakers. If you have the Mach 1 40-4024 or 40-4024A speakers, that kit is different, and is available here. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear. There are two 14 uf capacitors, two 8.2 uf capacitors, and two 4 uf capacitors. The old caps are pretty bad by this point, but these new film caps will get your speakers singing again! There are two different crossover variants for the 40-4029 speakers. One variant uses the exact capacitor values in this listing, but the other one uses one 33 uf cap, one 10 uf cap, and one 2.75 uf cap per speaker. Those do not sound as good, and should be changed to the values in this listing--the 33 uf cap is replaced with a 14 uf, the 10 uf is replaced with an 8.2 uf, and the 2.75 uf is replaced with a 4 uf cap. When you do this, you should change the 0.3mH inductor to a 0.15mH inductor as well. I do not have those, but they should be available on eBay. These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you're doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun or rubber cement to aid in mounting the caps. Please note that the new capacitors are much larger than the old ones, because they are so much higher-quality. They will still fit just fine.
