Description: These boxes are considered the 2nd pattern .44-40 box Winchester produced. The early style box (seen on the right) dates from 1874-76 and utilizes the top label to wrap over the right end of the box lid for side identification. The later style box (seen on the left) dates from 1876-77 and uses the side-wrap label design seen on all subsequent 19th century Winchester boxes. I have included pictures of both original box styles for comparison.Listing price is for ONE box - NOT BOTH. Please message me to let me know which style (early or later) you prefer. If you do not specify which, I will ship the early style box. All of the boxes I've recreated all date from the 1860's to the 1880's and are what collectors now, for obvious reasons, refer to as "picture boxes." These are not photocopies or printed from pictures I've Googled. These are high resolution, digital recreations and are professionally printed. The reproduction box is, of course empty, with the side wrappers sealed. However, you can cut the wrappers and open it for display if you'd prefer.Buyer pays fixed shipping. Let me know if you have questions or need further pictures. Auction is for one box.****UPDATE**** Due to the fluctuation in chipboard availability I'm being forced to limit my stock and make most cartridges boxes to order. Because of this, I'm having to extend my handling time to 5 days instead of 3. HOWEVER, most orders will continue to ship with in 1-3 days. But larger orders with multiple boxes may take 4-5 days. I will try to keep some of the better sellers on hand, but the availability of materials will ultimately determine what can be stocked. Thank you for your patience and don't hesitate to contact me if you need something quickly.
