Description: The Roosevelt Bears were a smash hit from around 1905 - 1910. There were 5 books published by the author Seymour Eaton. The other books are fairly easy to come but The Bear Detective book is rare. I believe it was the last one to be published and just not as many copies were printed. I love the color plates of the series and wanted this book to complete my collection of the color plates. The one of Teddy G on the goose is my favorite of all the illustrations. I copied the color plates from this book and opted to leave the originals in the book so that it would still be complete. All of the color plates are there. The book is in unusually good condition as you can see from the photos. There are a few loose pages, but I believe all the pages are intact. There are illustrations galore as nearly every page has an illustration on it. The stories are always funny and a pleasure to read. If I recall correctly, I paid around $500 for it around 2001. There are 178 pages.
