Just something about a Whittler, the name, the image, the mystique, the look/shape. Memories of the "Whittlers Bench" often on the County Square, near the local courthouse in many rural areas. But it just gets weirder with this knife, e.g., besides it BEING a WHITTLER (with that unique name), it is BIG, bigger than a Whittler, it is in the "Dogleg" pattern, unique alone but with a Whittler, about as wild as it gets in the pocketknife community! It has a unique combination of (general use) blades, and it opens easily! Sorry, but many Whittlers are a little tricky to open. This knife is deceptively bigger than it looks. Striking color, very different. Unfamiliar with the Dogleg design? Notice the shape of the knife . . . hold it up vertically, small part down . . . see the dogleg? Squint. Squint more. Round shield and grooved/notched nickel silver bolsters. Mint condition, no pits, rust, tarnish, or cracks in the handles. Color in both handles matches well, and with stained bone handles, you don't want it to be "the same", thus the individual knife character. Matter of fact, it is a dandy shade of green. Never used, never sharpened, never carried. Match strike pulls, blades work smoothly, i.e., not a challenge to open any blade. Nice big etching of "Rough Rider" on the (main) Clip blade.
