Description: This standard size real photo postcard captures President Calvin Coolidge and his wife, First Lady Grace Coolidge, while he's sampling a birthday cake made specially made for him. The image was taken out in South Dakota when Coolidge attended the "Spirit of '76 Days" festival in the summer of 1927 while on vacation at Deadwood. That's the event which famously pictured him in a Native American war bonnet, a postcard of which we have on eBay in one of its many versions, our item 305390788539. He also posed with Leonard Wood in 10-gallon cowboy hats, postcards of which we also have in our store, item 276416311534, and in chaps with his name on them, our item 305499007137. Historians and his contemporaries accused Coolidge of being dour and with no sense of humor. Actually, he was quite the wit. Do some research about his "you lose" comment to a lady at a dinner party. You HAVE to have a sense of humor to be president, plus wear ten-gallon hats, chaps and war bonnets! Did you realize he's the only U.S. president who was born on the Fourth of July? This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge this for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we don't. We just issue a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be $5.50 carefully packed with tracking. 6869
