Description: Here is a real photo postcard depicting the Shadowland Store at Shadow Lake New Hampshire. Originally named Hitty-Titty Pond when Salem became a town, the name was changed to Shadow Lake in 1913. I am guessing that the change had something to do with the “Shadowland” recreation area which was developed on its shore. Shadowland included a store, a beautiful beach and a large dance-hall which hung out over the water on piers. This image shows just a pair of autos parked at the store. Numerous small signs grace the front of the building including a small Coca Cola sign. Used and postmarked. The city and date are not readable. Mild edge wear. Good image.
