Description: RUNS GREAT! Vintage Swiss 1930s WYLER Steel CLAMSHELL 15 Jewels Manual Wind This is a beautiful and rare watch. Lovely creamy silver dial, which I believe to be original. The clamshell style case appears to be steel, though maybe chromium, as I know that material was used for cases by the brand at the time as well. Lume has come out of minute hand. See photos. Inscribed on the back ‘AJ Sabalauskas’ - after a bit of research I found that the man was born in Pennsylvania on June 6, 1917 and passed on March 9, 2004 at the age of 87. The watch winds, sets, and runs nicely. Keeps pretty good vintage time too. I don’t know the long term service history for this piece though, so no guarantees.
