Description: Complete kayak sail kit to fit Sea Eagle and Saturn inflatable kayaks listed at the end of this description. This listing is for the sail kit with 45 SF sail. Kayak not included. Please send message telling us what specific kayak model you have. This sail kit straps onto your kayak and requires no modification of the kayak itself. The passenger capacity of the kayak is not reduced by adding the sail kit. You still have just as much room in the cockpit. See it sail: We have done many videos showing this sail kit on various kayaks. Click these links to see the videos: * Video 1 (420X), * Video 2 (380X), * Video 3 (Saturn Fishing Kayak), * Video 4 (465FT), *** Note: The front assembly in videos 5 and 6 is an older "T-shape" design that occupied some cockpit space. The current design which you would receive is the U-shaped front assembly that does not take away any cockpit space like in the other videos and in the still photos: Video 5 (Saturn 12' Expedition), * Video 6 (Saturn 13' Expedition), Video 7 (Pathfinder II), , Portability and easy assembly: Everything folds or comes apart so that no part is more than 4 feet long and it all will fit into a 9-inch x 11-inch x 48-inch carry bag (included). Sail kit weighs just 35 lbs. Once you have done it a few times, you can set up the sail kit on your kayak in about 20 minutes. There are a few initial assembly tasks (approx 60 min.) that you do just once, when you first get your sail kit, and don't have to repeat. Click this link to see a video closeup of the sail kit with explanation of how it attaches to a Fast Track kayak: Close-up Video Click Here. Set up on other kayaks would be similar, but details differ in each case. You kit will come with complete instructions and straps suitable for your kayak. The last few still pictures with this listing show the sail kit in its carry bag (the blue bag), being carried by itself, in the trunk of a small car along with a Saturn 13' kayak, and being carried along with the Saturn 13' kayak. Capability: This kit has everything you need to transform any of the listed kayaks into a sailboat with ability to sail downwind, across the wind and tack upwind. It has leeboards and steering. Don't be fooled by others who sell a "sail kit' and all you get is a sail and mast without all the other components you need to hold the mast up, steer and sail across the wind and tack upwind. Why 2 steering oars? You could get by with just one. The main reason for 2 is convenience, so you can steer with either hand without having to move the steering oar from one side to the other. The steering oar you are not using can be ignored by resting its blade on the stern of the kayak. You can also propel the kayak short distances by using the two oars at the same time in a "push-forward" motion. Rowing with the steering oars is not real efficient for propulsion but can be convenient if you need to move a few feet closer to a dock or get yourself out of a sheltered little cove with no wind. What's included: Sail, spars, mast, ropes, fittings, frame, leeboards, steering unit, dual steering oars, carry bag, instructions. Kayaks it will fit: Sea Eagle 380X, 420X, Fast Track 385, Fast Track 465, Saturn RK396 (13' Expedition), Saturn FK396 (13' Fishing Kayk), Saturn 12' Expedition Kayak. Also will fit the following but stabilizer pontoons will be needed: Ozark Trail Bolt, Hydro-Force Bolt, Intex Excursion Pro and Pathfinder II from Jilong (or Red Star) but stabilizer pontoons are needed because it is not as stable as the other listed kayaks. Will fit Advanced Elements Strait Edge and Convertible models but stabilizer pontoons are highly recommended ($159 additional for inflatable pontoons or $259 for rigid pontoon). Please let us know which kayak you have when you order and whether you want to add the pontoons. Stabilizer pontoons are available at extra cost but are not included. Stabilizer floats (seen in parts of the videos and in one still picture) will reduce your risk of capsizing. The listed Saturn and Sea Eagle kayaks are pretty stable even without stabilizers, particularly if you have the weight of 2 or more passengers aboard. If they do capsize you can right them again fully rigged, following instructions provided. Video of capsize recovery technique: Click Here. But if you want stabilizer pontoons to enhance stability we have them. Inflatable ones are $159 and hard plastic very streamlined ones are $249 and in either case they come with outrigger arms that slide right into the front crossbar of the sail kit. Sail options: This sail kit is also available with a taller & stronger mast and larger 55 SF sail for $159 more. See other Ebay listing. You will get up to 25% more speed with the larger sail, depending on conditions. The appearance of the two sail sizes is very similar and these photos and videos are a mix of 45 SF and 55 SF versions. Sail color scheme - we will send the white sail with red, yellow, and blue diagonal stripes as shown in most of the pictures (see for example the first picture). There is no large logo or large lettering on the sail. About Us: We are SailboatsToGo, LLC. Our mission: Extremely Portable Sailing. Customer service is very important to us.
