Description: Maker: On the reverse of this lovely set of 7 fruit or berry bowls are two backstamps. The first is the green white ware mark of the classic maker Vignaud Frères, which produced high quality porcelain in Limoges between 1911 and 1938. A brown decorator's mark confirms that the set was produced for Gimbels, the iconic New York department store. Design: A red band with cartouches of blue and yellow flowers outlines a center of pure white porcelain. Replacements.com calls this pattern VIG110. Size: The bowls are 5 inches wide and together weigh 1 pound 11 ounces. Condition: There are no nicks, cracks, stains, repairs or crazing. There is light wear to the verges and more wear to the gold edges; it can be seen in the photos. One bowl has a shallow chip on the underside edge - that's shown in the photo with the red arrow. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
