Description: If someone had told me, as recently as a week ago, that I'd be listing a Smashing Pumpkins shirt, I probably wouldn't have believed it. It's not that I hate the band; it's simply that I haven't considered myself a fan in many years. I loved Gish when it came out, and I still think it's a great record. Then they put out Siamese Dream, which is a phenomenal album, maybe even better than Gish, but after that...I dunno. I don't think I've ever listened to Mellan Collie, bloated as it is, and beyond that I stopped paying attention altogether. But as many of you know, I'm often era-specific when it comes to what I stock here at casa de slim_punk, certain periods for certain artists. For example, I'm proud to stock a promo tee for Bowie's Alladin Sane, but you'll never see a Let's Dance shirt here, no way. Same thing with The Cure: I've got a great one up now from The Top era, but you'd never see one here from Bloodflowers. But I'm happy to have this Pumpkins tee, not only because I like the album, but because the cover art is so iconically great. Fans recognize them instantly: Ali and LySandra, the adorable pair from the front sleeve--but this is even better! Because here we have an outtake from the same photo shoot: a more playful image of the girls, you know--being girls. It's just fantastic. And the shirt itself is so dope: it's an absolutely flawless cut, perfectly broken in without being busted up, vintage-y soft and slinky--a perfect hang. Probably the only Pumpkins tee I'd be proud to rock, honestly; and someting tells me that it won't be around for very long, so get it while you can. Dreamingly dope!
