Description: Beautiful linen tea towel from the ss United States. In the polka-dot pattern used during afternoon tea. "US Lines 52" is woven into the edge of each, dating these to the maiden voyage. President Truman's daughter Margaret was on that voyage and may have used this very piece. See archival photo of her having tea on the trip. These came from an elderly gentleman in the Newport News area who attended the 1984 United States auction with his wife. Measures about 24.5" x 19". Excellent condition.
