Description: St Ignatius of AntiochHoly Medal on Chain This 7/8" oval St Ignatius of Antioch medal is nickel silver and made in Italy; it has oxidation added which gives it a soft overall vintage look. Comes attached to a 24" continuous stainless steel chain which is the perfect length to slip on and off over your head, without worrying about any clasps. (fits over most size heads) St Ignatius of Antioch was a second century Bishop who wrote many letters to which belong to a group of writings attributed to the Apostolic Fathers. Many of his letters dealt with the Sacraments and role of Bishops and provide information about the early Church. St Ignatius was arrested and taken in chains to Rome and martyred by being thrown to lions in the Colloseum. He is the patron saint of the Churches in the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa. Comes gift boxed and with a St Ignatius of Antioch prayer card, gift bag and tissue paper. The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper.
