Description: Steel Checkered Buttplate For a Rifle Or Shotgun. Never Installed Investment Cast. Major dimensions are 5" x 1 -9 /16". This is a Butt plate recently cast cast by MasterCraft of Bald knob Arkansas of 8620 steel . MasterCraft is renowned for their Muzzleloader/Vintage castings. This steel is highly resilient and tough. It is frequently used to make gears. Please see the photos for size/ and details. It will weigh roughly 6 to 7 ounces once fitted. This was made from some tooling I inherited and I know nothing of it's history. It is fully checkered with retaining screw hole indents located ready for drilling and counter sinking to your requirements. It will blue or brown beautifully.
