Description: She truly is a timeless treasure and a Kestner Collector's dream doll! This very special Kestner 167 size 2/0 doll, in her all original, factory clothing & shoes, wig and the unique Kestner character design. Made around 1916, this doll is perfect for anyone who loves antique dolls and wants to add a rare piece to their collection. She features a porcelain bisque head and a composition body - a full 9-piece jointed body, not the bent leg 5-piece baby body! With luminous brown sleep eyes, she is artfully painted in typical (wonderful!) Kestner style; multi-stroked brows, loads of lovely charcoal-colored lashes, and beautiful peachy-colored lips. She has an open mouth with 4 carved teeth. Her German composition body is stamped on the right hip in red, as shown in photos. Her plaster pate has never been removed, and is marked with pencil, her mohair wig has never been glued down and there is a paper label inside, also marked 2/0 and other info as shown in the photos. The doll has beautiful pale platinum mohair with loose curls & bangs. The wig is full, in original style and never played with. She wears black oilcloth-type shoes with a faint makers mark on the inside heel. The actual heels have fallen off. Her clothing is fabulous and in very good condition. She wears a diaper, with a wool soaker that has fancy stitching, it ties around the waist, just as in the olden days! A beautiful dress of fine cotton with lovely pintucks, lace & ribbon insertion, and a fancy flounce and beautifully decorated bodice. The skirt on her dress is 24 inches long. A long, flounced slip is underneath. Her hat has pintucks and a gathered lace topknot that frames her beautiful face. The dress & slip have a couple of minor tears, and a very light stain. I tried to capture this in the photos, but both the tears and stain are faint and hard to see. Her body gave away at the neckline before I purchased her in 1980. I know it can be repaired, but her stringing is tight, and I've not bothered as it looks fine in her dress. This doll is nearly perfect, and I have adjusted the price for her neck issue, asking $200 less than I was planning. Please ask questions before bidding.Comes from a non-smoking home, I'm thinning out my collection, and this Kestner "Baby Girl" has been a favorite, and hard to let go. Payment is expected within 2 days, I'm happy to combine shipping, if you let me know that you need this service.I leave feedback for every purchase and appreciate the wonderful happy, positive feedback I have received from my previous buyers!Thank you for shopping with me!!
