They saw that TKC wanted to build everything in house, that TKC was seeking the best and brightest minds in manufacturing and design, that TKC never skimped on equipment, and how this core philosophy translates to the materials, practices, and pride that TKC brings to the shop every day. After some back and forth on the design parameters, Richard got TKC a prototype and they went to work dialing in things like the textured pivot, stronger spring, and custom washers to make the action silky smooth yet functional in dirty environments. Long story short, the Maverick might look like "just another crossbar lock knife" but TKC put in countless hours of painstaking attention to every detail like incorporating Richard's signature tri-lobe into their design language while maintaining his clean, simple aesthetic.
