The screen is a used, genuine Nintendo screen. The touch digitizer is an aftermarket glass one with a matte texture. If any defects are found during testing, the screen is labeled with a description. Some screens show some yellowing. If your DS lite has any of the following symptoms, this is the part you're looking for: Console turns on, flashes the top screen, then shuts off, LCD damage (dead pixels, glitchy graphics), dead zones in the touch screen, inaccurate touch inputs even after calibration, or if your screen is scratched. Once you've reassembled your console you'll need to transfer the colored bezel piece that runs around the perimeter of the touch screen from your old screen to your new one. Something worth noting: Since the touch digitizer is an aftermarket part, the texture is slightly different than the original, with this replacement having more of a matte texture. I personally prefer it since it doesn't attract fingerprints, but if you're a purist, you might need to look elsewhere.
