Description: The Thailand 500 Baht Banknote was issued by the Government of Thailand between 1988 to 1996. The purple banknote bears Thai text. Its obverse features Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) wearing the uniform of the Supreme Commander of the Arm the Forces. It also shows the Royal Garuda emblem and the emblem of the Chakri dynasty depicting a chakra and a trisula. The reverse depicts the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the Grand Palace in Bangkok. It also displays the statue of a seated King Buddha Yod Fa Chulalok the Great, the first monarch of the Chakri Dynasty, and the Royal Garuda emblem. The note contains a solid purple security thread with printed Thai expression “Long Live the King”. it also has a watermark that reveals Rama IX. It is 160 x 80 mm in size. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
