Description: Photos of actual book (unlike some of the larger booksellers on this site who often use stock photos). Photos supplement descriptions. The Complete Plain Words, Sir Ernest Gowers; Published by Her Majesty's Stationary Office, June 1964. Seventh Impression (of 1954 1st). 209 pages. The Complete Plain Words, a style guide for civil servants written by Sir Ernest Gowers in 1954, has never been out of print. It comprises expanded and revised versions of two pamphlets that he wrote at the request of HM Treasury, Plain Words and ABC of Plain Words. Condition: Very Good condition; Cream dust jacket over green cloth, gold blocked title on black background to spine. Pages unmarked but with beginning of age darkening. Binding is firm, tiny corner bumps and slight mark rear board. Some edge wear and marking to intact dustjacket. (see photos). [The photo showing the small mark to the rear board mark does make the board appear blue but it definitely is green! ] I appreciate these descriptions are subjective and happy to accept domestic returns (buyer pays postage) if you feel description doesn't match your views. Combined postage available at no extra cost up to 2kg. The tracking used provides confirmation of delivery but not in transit tracking.
