With 20 engraved plates: vol. 1 has 15 plates (including the frontispiece portrait of Josephus and one folded plate); vol. 2 has 5 engraved plates. Dark red spine labels lettered in gold, some small nicks and scuffing to the spine of both volumes. Previous owners small label on inside of front board. Scattered foxing except the text content is mostly very clean and bright. Very tight binding. A very good early American edition, featuring handsome engravings.
