Description: Being offered here are two complete versions of the iconic RADIO PROGRAM: "THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL". The first version, created and produced by Bill Drake and Gene Chenault, was produced at KHJ Radio in Los Angeles, CA. Anyone who has ever been involved in Pop or Rock Music Radio is fully aware of this famous documentary. The first of two versions being offered here was produced by KHJ for syndication and was broadcast on numerous radio stations across the United States and elsewhere. This show was hosted by KHJ DJ "Humble" Harve Miller. It was recorded on September 5, 1969 from WOR-FM radio in New York. The resolution is in MONO at the 80kbps bit rate with very good audio quality. It runs for 48 hours less time allotted for commercial announcements. Comes with a complete Discography listing the entire production by hourly segments; including a list of all song titles and artists on a .pdf file. Show features artists across the 1950s and 1960s. Next, is the second of two variations with this one hosted by Bill Drake and was also produced by Bill Drake and Gene Chenault on KHJ. This version is recorded in STEREO at the 320kbps bit rate which is the best MP3 quality available. This original presentation from 1977 was re-worked and updated while a number of the early songs included in the earlier 1969 version had been deleted from this presentation. Again, a complete discography listing all the songs and artists in order of presentation by hourly segments is included on a .pdf file. In addition to the documentaries are a variety of written documents concerning these famous radio presentations. NOtE: As far as I know, only one version of "THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL" has ever been produced directly to the consumer in any form and was marketed on 5 LPs from 1971 and is entitled "THE MOTOWN STORY". So far, it has not been released on CD. Both the versions being offered here are recordings of radio broadcasts form 1969 and 1977 respectively.
