WHITE & CO. - 1833."(1833 HARTFORD CONNECTICUT EDITION OF THIS MASSIVE OLD FULL LEATHER BOUND BIBLE, UNFORTUNATELY LACKING THE TITLE PAGE AND THE ENGRAVED HALF-TITLE PAGE AT THE FRONT OF THE BOOK!!)-- Here we have a fairly good copy of this Hartford Connecticut Holy Bible. This Bible is bound in a beautiful, gilt decorated full leather binding that is in great condition other than the front spine lettering, which is about half worn off. Internally, there are condition issues at the front of the book. The original front flyleaf is rumpled but still fully intact, but the next page is the first page of the book of Genesis. The half-title page and master title page have fallen out of the book and are long lost. The first two leaves of Genesis are badly frayed on the outer edges, but this doesn't affect any of the text. The second of the two leaves is dogeared over on the bottom inner edge, but no paper is missing. The remainder of this Bible is in near excellent condition until you get to the very last page of the book, which is also frayed on the outer edges and somewhat rumpled, but again not affecting any of the text. I show all these issues in my pictures.
