Description: This is the Original (1sh) movie poster THE SCARLET LETTER. It was used by Majestic to promote this movie when it was released in 1934. It is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars Colleen Moore, Hardie Albright, Henry B. Walthall, Cora Sue Collins, Alan Hale, Virginia Howell, William T. Kent, and William Farnum. It was directed by Robert G. Vignola. This restored movie poster is Rolled and measures 41" x 79", normally called a Three Sheet. This poster is also linen backed. Add 1" all around the 41" x 79" poster size to account for the addition of the linen backing. The primary area of restoration was at the previous Fold lines, which are now generally faint. Also restored was some missing paper and some minor tears. This original movie poster is now graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint. Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc. It is difficult to find any pre-1985 original movie posters graded C10 (Mint). Original movie posters - by generally recognized standards - cannot receive a grade higher than C8.5 after restoration. Prior to restoration this poster was graded C7 Fine/Very Fine. We decided to have it restored since we had been unable to find many, or any, 1934 THE SCARLET LETTER original movie posters in any type of acceptable condition for display. Although the C7 unrestored poster could have been displayed, the restoration has now elevated this poster to it original grandeur. The colors and images and detail are amazing. I know that any fan of THE SCARLET LETTER , or any fan of vintage original movie posters, would be supremely pleased with the appearance of this poster. We have no doubt that THE SCARLET LETTER original movie poster, Three Sheet, has very good investment value. The movie is an iconic film that has stood the test of time.
