Brown cloth boards have bright gilt lettering and black bars on spine. Top edges are also gilt. Cloth is clean, but for a small white spot on each spine. Vol I has fine scratches on rear, while Vol II has a scuff on front and a small tear mid rear. Corners are bumped but only lightly rubbed. Spine ends are lightly worn. Hinges are intact and binding is tight. Pages are creamy and clean, but probably mildly toned. There is a total of 14 b&w single sided plates including the frontispieces. Carlyle brings to life the events of the period. Overall Condition is Very Good I can no longer ship internationally. All my books are as described.
