Description: You are bidding on a set of (5) Specialty “HAMMER SHIMS” in various thicknesses for the Thompson Center Percussion Cap Lock system and possibly for other firearms. These Shims are very low friction and non-marking. Have you ever noticed on some of the Thompson Black powder rifles and pistols the hammer is not exactly CENTERED / in alignment with the nipple, (with an UNLOADED GUN... looking at the front of the gun the hammer is just about touching OR is touching the left side of the nipple NOT striking the cap flush in center on the nipple). NOTE: How the Hammer Shims work… Just unscrew the hammer screw and remove hammer, take the White Shim first and add a light film of oil (on both sides) then place it over the hammer stud, replace the hammer and tighten the screw (do not over tighten). You can add another Shim until the hammer is in alignment OR satisfactory to your liking with the nipple. Over the years I have seen so many hammers with the side cracked or burned out, these Shims can help with this problem. I used them on my Hawken and they work fine. Thanks and good luck.
