Description: Tiny very old hand decorated and potted stoneware container with a fish scale decoration. The tiny ceramic container is only 1 3/8“ (3.5 cm) tall. It has a round body with a tall neck and small mouth opening. There is iron black decoration of circles and scalloped fish scales. The base is flat. You can see the potter’s wheel marks. It is heavily potted for the size. MEASUREMENTS 1 3/8“ (3.5 cm) tall x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) diameter. Weighs 1 oz (30 g) CONDITION There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. There is wear to the mouth. There are firing flaws such as a rough spot near the base. It looks perfect for the age. The decoration is light and not super dark. A great miniature pot from long ago.
