Located on the first floor of Grand Central's Tower C (built as one of six "signal station" towers controlling train movements into and out of Grand Central), the library houses one of the largest collections of railroad books, periodicals and memorabilia in the metropolitan New York area. The space and purpose were designated by Fred E. Williamson, who from 1931 to 1944 was president of the New York Central Railroad; he decreed that the Railroad Enthusiasts have the space in perpetuity. Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2007, the library is open for NYRRE meetings and by appointment. All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos.
