Directly below the title is a woodcut illustration titled "The Genius of Temperance Destroying the Hydra." Measuring 7.5" x 4.75" and containing 24 pp., which includes the 12-month almanac, plus a conversation between "Mother" and "Child", which is illustrated with 12 1.25" x 3" woodcuts depicting quite a variety of scenes of human suffering in which alcohol has played a part, "Mother" explaining each of those scenes to the "Child". It was Published and Sold by L. D. Dewey in New-York and by the NY State Temperance Society in Albany and by others. The almanac was printed by Hoffman & White on 71 State St., Albany.
