Description: Offered here is an ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL Space 1999 FLYING EAGLE that was issued by MATTEL in 1976. Other than the Zython action figure, this is probably the most difficult Space 1999 toy to find. The toy comes in its original very worn box. Box has suffered water damage on one end. Toy does not seem to be effected. Battery compartment is clean. Toy is missing 2 landing pads and instructions; otherwise complete. The hook to pick things up is broken as well as one of the alien ship legs. Leg could be reglued. This unit is untested as I do not have the large D cell batteries required for testing. Please see photos for complete item description as they are a large part of the description. Toy may have been repaired at one time. Interior packaging is present but also water damaged on 1 end. Would make a good pattern to make a new one as it is simply a cardboard insert. Almost impossible piece to find these days. The accessories (tower, alien ship and moonbuggy) are even tougher to find and usually missing from this set. Imagine it is now over 45 years old!. Item will be well packaged.
