Unfired USGI M1 Garand Early (1-52) National Match Barrel 98+% Never On A Gun!

Description: Up for sale is an amazingly rare find. It is an early (1-1952) Springfield Armory National Match barrel that is in UNISSUED UNFIRED condition! It has never been on a rifle. It still has the original 72 year old arsenal muzzle cap and chamber plug still on it! The chamber plug is marked “US RIFLE M1.” This would be an early “Type 1” National Match barrel. These were not made specifically as a match barrel. Instead, when the inspectors found a production barrel that met match grade standards, it was pulled out and hand stamped “N.M.” near the production markings at the rear of the barrel. Later, they were also stamped N.M. near the muzzle. The shooters estate we got it from, purchase it 50 years ago in a surplus sale. It was sold to him as a “National Match”barrel. He never used it. I bought it to put on my ‘43 Garand. But, I don’t have the heart to take off the original ‘43 barrel. Although a bit worn, it still outshoots me! I have not gauged it for muzzle and throat erosion. It looks new and unfired.Instead, Original, unfired/unmounted Garand National Match barrels have become very hard to find. That said, our price is now only $375 shipped!
