Description: I have for sale a souvenir ribbon for the 1876 United States Centennial. The Centennial exposition was held in Philadelphia, Pa. from May 10 to November 10, 1876. This silk ribbon is 10 3/4 by 6 inches. It is very colorful and in a high grade condition, only at the top and bottom there are very minor problems, see photos. The ribbon at the top reads PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL - EXPOSITION. In the center it shows George Washington, with an eagle above. Below Washington it shows the Memorial Hall. Below the hall it shows a steamship, train and industrial goods. At the bottom there is a ribbon and, on the ribbon, it reads CENTENNIAL - UNITED STATES - INDEPENDENCE with 1776 and 1876. It also has the words MEMENTO & SOUVENIR. At the sides of the ribbon there are two flag poles. At the very bottom of the ribbon in small letters it has the names J.B. CHAMPROMY and A. LARCHER PA.
