Description: Offered is a rare, unknown painting which came out of the Newport, Rhode Island estate of the late American Artist, Alfred Simson and his talented wife, opera singer Veronica Cinelli-Simson. They collected many paintings of well-known artists. You can check these folks out on Google and other locations on your computer. In its frame, the painting measures 11 1/2" tall by 10 1/2" wide. I am not sure of the actual size of the painting since I do not wish to remove it from the frame. The sticker on the frame reads "Heydenryk Frames". They have been in business since 1845 and are regarded as the oldest and most respected makers of frames. Well- known artists from 1845 to the present day, have been using frames from this company to showcase their masterpieces. This particular painting appears to be painted on silk or some other fine cloth. I am not sure if the painting represents a religious figure. The painting has some fine spots on it which I am not sure you can see very well. Some of the spots are on the inside section of the glass, but again, I do not wish to remove the artwork from the frame. I offer items as I find that and will leave it up to experts to decide which way to clean any item. I do not see any signature on this painting. I have to sell this item as is since I know nothing about it.
