The undershirt is specially made to keep you warm and comfortable in cold temperatures. Due to safety requirements, artificial material are not allowed in conjunction with the nomex CVC uniforms. In flash fire situations, the synthetic materials will melt to the body, and, if anything, exacerbate the situation. Natural materials (cotton and wool) will not melt to the body.
