Description: A very rare map produced and published expressly for Independent Hardware Stores. The design and artwork was done by Stanley Turner an English born artist who emigrated initially to Canada but was commissioned to produce these maps. There are apparently 25 different editions each commissioned by a different trade or other body depicting different periods and aspects of the 2nd WW. This map measures 39 inches x 17 inches and has been laminated to protect it from ware and tear. There are a few marks as illustrated in the photos but all details are clear and visible to read. Information covers all theatres of the war and is interesting to view knowing with hindsight what events are yet to come. One unique and interesting aspect is that on the rear the item has a pencil message and signature dated to June 19th 1942. The map is being stored flat but will need to be rolled up to post but wherever it ends up it will be posted by the quickest method of delivery possible so on opening it should lay flat again.
