Victorinox Small Standard Swiss Army Knife pre 1985 84mm

Description: The Standard Swiss Army knife is similar to the Spartan, the most popular of the full-sized knives from Victorinox. It differs from the Spartan in that it has no toothpick, tweezers, or key ring. This Small Standard is slightly smaller and lighter, but has the same tool set. It is a B, but some of the blades are stiff and hard to open. We know it was made before 1985 because there is no sewing eye in the awl. The Small Standard is mid-sized (3.25 “/84 mm) but it weighs only 2 oz. (59 grams) and is 0.5 “ (13 mm) thick. It is a two layer SAK containing large and small knife blades, a can opener with small screwdriver, a bottle opener with large screwdriver, awl, and corkscrew. I am primarily a collector, but searching for new and unusual models often brings me duplicates and perfectly useful knives that I cannot keep. I share these on eBay. I classify knives by condition according to the scale below. Grading Scale: A+ new in box, with paperwork. Box may be worn, but the knife has never been carried, sharpened, or used. Collector or museum quality. A new or like new, but no box or paperwork. Collector or museum quality. B+ Excellent condition, no obvious wear, clean, tight, complete. Good for a collector, but probably not a museum. B Excellent condition with some wear on the scales (handles). Clean, tight, complete, but the Swiss cross may be barely visible. A great carrier but not pretty enough for a collector’s display. B- Some wear but still an excellent carrier. Clean, tight, complete. C+ A good carrier. Clean and complete with excellent utility value. C A good used pocketknife but nothing more. Everything is there and it all works, but if you dropped it in the creek you might not jump in to retrieve it. D Sold as is. Might be useful for parts or dissection. F You’ll never see this because they end up in my trash can. If you are not happy with your purchase when you get it, send it back. I’ll refund your purchase price.
