Description: This 64-page treasure was published by Borden's Evaporated Milk. It is called The Particular Cook's Cook Book, and it offers a wide selection of recipes incorporating the product. Though there is no date anywhere in the book, there's a clue on the page highlighting "Other Borden's Products." The illustration for the company's None Such Mince Meat features a woman with a decidedly 1920s look -- her hair, her clothes all fit the era perfectly. (I've enlarged the illustration so you can get a good look.) The recipes here are classics. There are creamed soups and chowders, coffee and chocolate beverages, egg and cheese dishes, polenta, sauces, creamed vegetables and lots of desserts. There are five large, color lithographs illustrating recipes. The fine print on the last page says "Litho in U.S.A." This book is in very good vintage/antique condition. The stapled binding is still holding strong. There are minor cover marks from normal handling and a few folded corners inside, but no torn or missing pages, no writing. The book measures approximately 7 5/8" x 5 3/8". No musty odors, no smoke. From a nonsmoking estate cookbook collection.
